Know your home
Find your stopcock before you need it.
Your stopcock turns off all the water to your home. It's usually under the kitchen sink, but can be in a downstairs toilet, under the stairs or where the pipe enters the house. Turn it clockwise to close. If it's stiff, don't force it: we can replace it for a fixed price.
Between 1 and 1.5 bar when the heating is off. Under 1? Top up with the filling loop.
Lag pipes in lofts and garages, and leave the heating on low if you're away.
A towel and a bowl buy time. Tighten nothing that's already leaking at a joint.
Reset once. If it locks out again, leave it and call us.
